"A good conventional, reliable and versatile SUV"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing!

General comments?

Value for money. Loaded with features.

Roomy, comfortable, controls well laid out and easy to access. Front seats perhaps a tad small - they do however provide excellent body stability although thigh support could be better.

One of the few of this size and class with a full chassis and conventional four wheel drive system with high/low range.

Drives and handles well on the highway, and performance is adequate. Fuel consumption leaves a little to be desired. Stable and secure on gravel roads when driven according to the prevailing conditions and with FWD engaged.

Seven seater. With some handyman skills the rear seat can be removed and flat platform with storage space under can be made and fitted without the need to drill. Makes for a huge cargo compartment.

Overall, a good vehicle at a reasonable price. I'm more than happy with mine.

Hi there I am thinking of buying a 2002 XL7 for the same reasons as you like it space, comfort and ladder frame and genuine 4wd ability. I would like some more information if you could on how you removed the back seats, as I would use mine for camping and the size of the thing (without the third row of seats) appealed to me.. any help would be great,

Please email me on ogosh@hotmail.com thanks!
