Central locking works when it wants to.
2 of 4 coils gone at 12200 miles.
The car is very comfortable and spacious. It also handles very well and not too bad at pick up considering its engine size.
Touch wood no problems so far with the central locking, but two ignition coils failed at 12000 miles. Renault only supply in sets of four and recommend that all four are replaced irrespective of how many have failed. The Dealer's bill for the work was about £170.00.
I too have had problems with ignition coils failing.
I have had a Laguna since new (2000 X). The first coil failed at 40,000 miles, the second at 47,000. Renault dealer replaced them singularly and cost around £50 a time.
I'm now waiting nervously for the others to go!
Look on Ebay for Genuine replacement Renault Ignition Coils.
Mine has just had a failure and cost £47.00 to replace (for the part, no labour)
Seems that they are a known weak component!

I also have had to replace 3 ignition coils on a five year old scenic I queried this with Renault customer services if this was a design fault, they told me to send in repair invoices and reimbursed the full amount no argument, makes a change from your usual fight to get any satisfaction when problems arise, give it a try if it happens to you.
