The hatchback is rusted badly.
There is a little hesitation when I
first push the accelerator.
My 1990 Mustang GT is a very reliable
car.
I wouldn't trade it in for anything
else.
My best ET's was 14.6 in the quarter
mile on a stock engine.
Is yours the the 5.0L? If so I don't blame you for loving it so. The little Mustang hatchback 5.0L sure packed a punch for a 302 partly because of its low weight in the car body. Easy handling also the car is very very very fun to drive and fast.
Hmmmm it says 5.0 in the title so one would assume it is a 5.0 Mustang now wouldn't they? PLUS that was the ONLY V-8 offered in the Mustang in 1990.
You are correct on the weight thing though. These cars are pretty quick even stock due to the light weight and high torque, quick revving 302.
I'd love to get my third someday as I still see mint, stock ones selling on Ebay all the time. This time around I would add a supercharger just to make it a little more current with today's cars. After all, having Altima 3.5's and Accord V-6's blow by you is pretty embarrassing isn't it? HEH!!
