"Scatty-Poo-Rust-Bucket!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Well the entire engine block fell from the engine mount and the A/C never works and smells like scat fetish and I fried two cylinders just by highway driving and going the speed limit ythe doors rustier than darwin gorman's car and believe me that's rusty... and it burns more oil than gas and I have had it in for 6 tune ups already.

General comments?

I think that this car should no longer be in production due to the many problems me and my fellow civic drivers have had and that about 5 or 6 of them please if you wanna have a good car buy what I m buying a Volkswagen Jetta!!!

If you had so many problems with the Civic why be dumb enough to buy this one after having one before?

I know from experience it isn't the car that causes the problems, but most of the time it is the driver. A car can take so much abuse before it falls apart, and this is a real good case of vehicle neglect. The Volkswagen will fall apart just as easily if it isn't taken care of.

This is the best car I have ever owned. You are pretty dumb to buy another and a VW is not much different from the civic.

I think you had so many problems with that car due to LACK OF MAINTANANCE maybe if you took care of it better it would have treated you better. I have the same car only done right up and have never had any problems with it for the 2 years I have owned it. Go buy your VW and see how fast the spark plugs come flying out your hood.

I have a 1992 Honda Civic LX, and it has lots of rust. The valve heads are shot. I keep reading that the engines are no good. I like the Honda Accord, but, I am scared to purchase one after this experience. I am looking to buy a Volvo 850.

I've read comments made by the person in 2002, and wanted to share my experience. I have owned my Honda Civic since I purchased it in 1992. I am a true believer about following through with maintenance on vehicles. It is so important. The cost of maintenance has been relatively low compared to other vehicles I've owned.

Anyway, just want to let you know that I have 230,000 miles and my vehicle is still running fine. Many people, especially extended family members, have offered to buy my vehicle. However, I have had a hard time letting it go.

The following are parts replaced throughout the years:

Timing belt every 85,000 miles

Replaced axle CV boot in 2001 (left side)

Replaced axle CV boot in 2002 (right side)

Starter in 2007

Alternator 2007

Master cylinder 2007

Both axles 2008 (preventive only notice boot slightly cracking or possibly split through)

To date, this vehicle is running like a champ similar to when I drove it off the showroom. The paint looks great! It's been difficult deciding to trade it in for a new vehicle or to just keep it. I have no plans to trade it in at this point.

This truly has been the best invest I've made.

Happy Honda Driving!
