Motor 1: broken timing belt shortly after replacing at scheduled time.
Motor 2: another poorly placed timing belt; ECM; starter; air conditioning recharge; unexplained motor vibration, causing transmission to pull away from motor;
Motor 3: front axles; replaced timing belt (correctly this time), along with hydraulic tensioner; water pump; bad counter-balance shaft bearing; alternator; sudden, unexplained, and dramatic loss of oil;
Motor 4: another ECM; coil pack.
Have had two transmissions - synchros problem shifting to second with each.
Radio no longer has ability to pick up stations.
Great deal of fun to drive when working properly. However, these times have been few and far between.
Good in snow also.
I wrote this original review - since, motor 4 has gone by the wayside. The counterbalance shaft belt broke and got caught up in the timing belt and of course made it skip out of time. This is the second time that belt had broken (was aware of it happening in a previous motor, but caught it before it did any damage). That upsets my slightly, especially since this belt does not run anything imperative to the motor (there only to counterbalance the rotation of the shaft on the oil pump and theoretically prevent vibration). I have since put in another motor, cutting that belt off, and have noticed no change in performance or and kind of vibration. If you own this car, cut that counterbalance shaft belt as "preventative maintenance". Good times, and happy drivin'!
When all this stuff started with your car, how many miles did you have on it, because I have a 91 Eagle Talon, and I have already replaced the spark plugs, engine coolant hoses, and a crank sensor that cost me like 500 dollars.
I own a 1991 eagle its non turbo just plain talon, but I have a few problems with mine I had to replace ecm and the tcm that's for the engine and transmission replace transmission and the throttle body sensor and other few things, but I can say most of the time it a really good car can't beat my 88 gt, but right now when you crank it sounds like a bird under the hood maybe something is about to go, but so far so good
BIG BUCKS.
