Let me first say what a wonderful car to drive, even though it was a high miler I was plesed with the performance of it. Unfortunatly after a sweeping corner the tail of the car slid out causing a crash equaling to a 'write-off' With a High lift cam, Perfomance exhaust, uprated air filter and 15inch alloys she would reach 100 miles per hour in third gear! What a pocket rocket! Interior seat snapped during the crash so I will be upgrading to bucket seats for my new XSI. The Electronic chip unit was not recording faults which caused problems for a while, It was eventually found that Ignition module was faulty. There is no way a 106xsi will do 100 in 3rd...ratio is too short!
It will do 100 in 4th tho :)
Hi there I have a 106 xsi on a j plate (91) I have had a saxo 1.1 gearbox fitted with short shift linkage put on and I can do 87/88mph and it limits.
