"A piece of junk"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Had to have the battery replaced.

The air bag was on constantly on, had to have the "computer" replaced.

The air conditioner fan went out, was replaced by dealer, still doesn't work.

The car keeps running out of oil.

The engine needs to be replaced, according to the dealer.

General comments?

At least you people were able to get warranty work done on your cars! my dealer wants me to produce 5 oil change receipts before he will replace the engine on the car. it's a pretty sad day when a car with 20,000 miles on it needs a new engine.

Well the point is this, if you run the engine out of oil then yes you can expect to have to have a new engine fitted. I fully understand your dealerships point of view.

This is why you get receipts... you are supposed to keep them... to show maintenance records for your vehicle...Duh!!!

I know the feeling about the oil change receipts in order for them to replace the engine. But let me tell you even though the replacement is taking place does not mean it is repaired, they replaced the small block twice within two months. June then August. They paid for my rental car the first time then even though it was manufacturers mistake. They started charging me $15.00 a day. Just last week March 6, 2003, they final put in a new Complete engine and replaced my computer. I have Hundreds of dollars wrapped up in rental car fees. Here are few more things that have happened, Corner panel replaced for peeling paint, radio replace 3 times, Passenger side window motor replaced, of course the two small blocks, one complete engines, Now my heater went out and they will not cover to have replaced. Also watch it when KIA changes your oil they put tapper seals on the oil filter fitting. To see if you have someone else changing it.

I would not suggest this vehicle to any one. The warranty does not cover everything as long as you think it does. Make sure that you read the fine print. I hate my care.

I also own a kia sephia ls and I kept it maintained however the person before me didn't now my kia constantly eats oil it doesn't leak it just "eats" about 2 qts. every 4-12 days depending on the amount of driving however due to the guy before me I need a new motor and my car has 48,000 miles on it so the warranty is no good because the guy before me so I got screwed.
