Requires pricey maintenance after 100,000 miles.
Although you see in the list of things that have went wrong with this car the engine has never faltered.
This car is powerful and handles well.
Roomy cabin with very little distraction of noise (except the shaking passenger seat).
At 225,000 miles it runs like a car with 50,000 miles.
I do love the Taurus even if she is a high maintenance car.
She is reliable, powerful and comfortable and not too bad on gas.
I feel your pain. I had a 1992 Taurus for two years. I had tranny problems, ate brakes for breakfast, went through struts, broken down seats, an alternator, false warning lites, and one mysterious crapping out on the freeway! When the car ran right it was a decent ride. I got around 34 mpg on one trip around Washington. A fairly stout car, but too many reliability problems. I currently own two Toyota's and a Subaru and have never been happier.
