Lots of (minor) things, fuel pump, brake master cylinder, carby, but all
these things are very cheap to recon/replace.
My father gave me this car recently, my
kid brother had been driving it for the last 4 years.
Not my choice of a car in 2003, as I
recently bought a fully optioned newish
Magna, with all creature comforts.
However, it is always a pleasure to be
reacquainted with an "old friend", these
were the cars I grew up with, they are
very simple, easy to maintain, extremely
thirsty on fossil fuel! but have a "magic" all of their own, a character,
a charm, even to the point of Icon status.. "Not the Kingswood!"
The uncomfortable, badly splitting, vinyl bench seat, which makes your skin
feel like it's about to peel off, when
you get up to exit car, on a hot day and the noisy truck like 202 motor, which is virtually indestructable, even
after some 28 years, and without a service, for at least 4.
Taking all the possible punishment our
outback roads can dish out, and still
running, a straight, honest, no nonsense
car, built like a "brick outhouse", which will probably still be running long after the new Magna is on the scrap heap!
That's right they don't build them like they used to. They build them a whole lot better.
