I have had all four window regulators replaced at different times. There was a TSB addressing this issue.
I had two factory batteries replaced then decided I would try an aftermarket.
I replaced factory battery with an Interstate and have not had a problem for two years.
I have read other comments about sludge in these engines. I have replaced my oil every three thousand miles religiously and do not have any problems described.
I am a Service Manager at a Dodge dealership in Texas. It has been my experience that when an engine is sludged it is a result of lack of maintenance. I am regularly told by customers that they have there service done at ABC garage or that they do it themselves. When I ask for records they are never available. These are machines and require maintenance to survive. If I have a customer that can provide records indicating that they have followed the maintenance schedule and still have a catostrophic failure (Engine or Transmission) I have no problem "going to bat" for them. Contrary to popular belief most Dealerships do not care whether you pay for the repair or the manufacturer does.
Thank you Steven for letting me Post.
Randy.
Oh, Thank Goodness... Since you have vast experience with dodge vehicles, maybe you could enlighten those of us who don't. I just bought my used 99 Durango 5 mos ago. I had it serviced immediately and my mechanic says it is in good shape. However, this SUV has become dangerous as it stalls for no apparent reason. I can be idling or going 70 mph on the interstate. I was almost killed by a semi the first time it happened. Neither the Dodge dealership nor my mechanic can find anything wrong with it. No idiot lights, no change in the guages. I understand that it could be one of many different sensors. The only common threads of the 8 or 9 instances of stalling are that the air conditioner had been on very low and we had been doing a bit of slow driving through traffic. I can't afford to keep renting a car when I need to know I have a dependable ride for the day for appointments. If I continue to drive it until something breaks (advice of all who have looked at it) I could get killed in an accident. One other thing. My mechanic has hooked it up several times to the computer and no error codes, they reset something on it and I drove it 180 miles before it did it again. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
