The bolt holding the battery in place was completely eroded.
The car is very comfortable (if you are a petite person).
It handles very well and is beneficial in larger cities, such as New York, where it is very difficult to find a parking space.
The car handles very well and is good for a new driver.
I'm an owner of an Elantra, I've had nothing but problems with the car. Hopefully it starts tomorrow morning. Do not know what is wrong with the car.
I own a 1999 Hyundai Elantra GL, and it is an absolute piece of you no what.
The car has 91,999 miles and is having major trans and axle problems already. It would be covered but I am the second owner, which if anyone is planning on buying a used Hyundai with more than 50,000 miles, then you don't have a warranty. Hyundai offers a 10 YR 100,000 mile powertrain warranty ONLY FOR THE FIRST OWNER!!! If you are the second owner (hence a used Hyundai) then your warranty goes to 5 YR 50,000 Mile. THAT IS BULL! When I purchased my car it had 66,000 miles on it and I purchased it in 2006. So my car was 7 yrs old. This means I don't have a warranty. MAYBE YOU SHOULD TELL PEOPLE BEFORE YOU SELL THEM A DEATH TRAP THAT IS NOTHING BUT UNRELIABLE. Hyundai doesn't see this being a problem because once you buy a car AS IS, it is your problem.
TRY TALKING TO THE 57,945 plus people with the same exact problem as me alone. THAT IS ONLY 1999! 1,346,000 plus have major problem with Hyundai's alone.
Whether covered under a warranty or not, some of these issues should be re-called. Like the transmission that was replaced 3 times on numerous Elantras. AND THEY STILL FAIL! It only took TOYOTA 10 YRs of thinking to recall the horrible frame rotten tacos from 95-00.
WE NEED TO STEP UP AMERICA.
