Nothing!for his clas and at shes age is fine!
This car is seriously quick and handles like it's on rails!
However the cabin is very gloomy.
Mhmm... first of all dacia was never a 4x4 car.
Second, that engine was never able to reach 300.000 km.
Overall, it was a decent car up to 1987 or so. there are no such associations like "performance" etc with this car.
Dacia engines can reach 300,000 km. My aunt's reached 500,000 and it's still going strong, the car being able to go at 120 kmh or so which is fast enough for Romanian roads. It's a good car overall, and I reckon it would even find a market in western countries because of its 4000 Euro price tag, which is tiny. Shame that Renault wants to shed it...
The DACIA's engine can go up to 500.000 Km. I own one that has over 489.000 Km. It was built in 1982 and the only problems I had were around the gearbox. In fact, most of the mechanics said that it has more "life" in it than the new models.
Dacia ewasn't able to reach 150.000 Km withaut a major engine repair on gas. It's possible to reach 200.000 Km with butan gas (GPL) but is not a good engine. Is a very poor car, it's only advantage is that could you repair bu yourself if you have a little mechanical skill. Trust me, I had 3 dacia cars and I'll never bought another. hsergiu@personal.ro.
It actually can be driven as a 4x4, but only if you take with you in the car 3 of your best friends, 5 six-packs of beer and choose the worst possible road, somewhere in the woods. The sensation will be great! I can't tell you if you're gonna survive this, but it worth a try!
I think he referred to the ARO 10 model which worn a "Dacia" sign on its front panel.. That WAS a 4x4, tho :P.
The only problem Dacia has is romanian roads and drivers it is fit for an unexpirienced driver as a teaching instrument If you can drive a Dacia you can drive anything.
