Reliable, comfortable and safe cruiser.
What a great engine! Smooth, but strong.
In comparison with a modern European car this full size American navigates something like a boat on freeways.
The 1979 Olds 98 Regency is not top of the line car from GM, but it was very nice luxury car. Rides like a cadillac.
I just bought my second 1979 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency with the 403 engine. I paid $450.00 for it, all I have done to it is a tune up and polish it up. I have completly gone thru the cooling system, radiator, fan clutch, water pump, thermostat, hoses, cap and put in all new coolant (the olds 6.6 v-8 has a tendency to run a little hot due to the cyliners being sysmesed together). The car looks spectacular, these are the best cars ever built, I have driven it 14k miles in the past 5 months; all of it trouble free and in complete comfort. I think these cars are cheap to buy because most people are totally ignorant of thier bullet proof engineering.
