2001 Audi TT 225 coupe from UK and Ireland - Comments

"Really attracts ladies"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Petrol meter is not always right.

General comments?

The Audi TT is a great car.

Great for looks, style and handling.

I have owned an M3 before and prefer the TT.

The TT is one of two, four wheel drive convertables on the road.

I'm only 19 and have owned some of the fastest road cars under the £60k bracket, but the TT has to be the best of them all.

I have tried so hard to get the car to spin off the road in the low gears, but finding it rather hard thanks to the four wheel drive.

My 1998 BMW M3 EVO used to spin off at every tight corner, and is not that eye catching to the public.

I think the Mondeo driver needs to wake up.

If you had ever owned or driven both an M3 and TT, or if you could actually drive properly, you would never prefer a TT to an M3. Hmmm... let me think, driver dependent, perfectly balanced RWD sports saloon, or electrickery ridden 4WD poseur-mobile?? Which would appeal to any driving enthusiast more???

I really don't think you would have owned either of those cars by the time you were nineteen! And if you had - the M3 would have won hands down!

Give the guy a break! I'm 21, and I've owned an M3, a Honda S2000, and I'm now buying a TT. I had an M3 at 19.

Don't presume that your own life defines that of others. That's just silly. The M3 is a beautiful machine -- it is an amazing drive, and in my opinion, the best drive in the price range. The TT wins hands-down on looks tho. It handles well, it's real fast, and it looks gorgeous -- you don't get that "boy racer" look with the TT, which the M3 obviously gives.

It easily possible to have such cars at a young age. I'm 20 and have just bought an M Coupe instead of a TT, it's much more of a drivers car than the TT. Yes the Audi's nice, but it's not a purists car with its safety conscious Quattro system. Give me RWD cars any day.

Hmmm.. somehow strikes me as sad to think I've just spent quite a few years of "earned" money on a spoilt brat's poseur toy, though if I did have a ton of daddy's surplus dosh to splash about I'd be more likely to test the quattro handling than currently willing.

I worked damn hard since I was 16 saving for a M coupe and it really annoys me when you jealous idiots make comments about people without evening knowing their circumstances. My dad doesn't have loads of spare cash as you so firmly believe so I suggest you think before making uninformed remarks about other people.

I have just bought an audi tt which is a beautiful car, but to be honest it doesn't perform that well my last car was a fiat coupe 20vturbo wiv 250bhp and performance wise it would rip the audi out ov site, but the audi feels like its in a diffrent class being more solid and stylish, i am also young at 23 but I had 2wrk hard 2own both these cars, m3's are nice cars, but the old shape ones aint that quick either (my mate had one) and theres no way thay handle like the audi does,..

Whats happening here is the age old confusion of handling and grip. The TT clearly has better grip with all four wheels driving the car forward, but a RWD car such as an M3 has more precise handling. At the end of the day it is down to individual taste so really neither car is better than the other.

Please note that we are in a time when the younger are getting wealthier on their own means.

To that I say yes, I have had the M3, it is great, but the styling of the TT is still hands down more executive. This is honestly not a kids-toy much like the Ford Mustang or M3, this is a more refined machine with superb grip on the road, for those who want to be able to take a turn without compensating for understeer or oversteer, the TT is the coupe for you.

And again, just for those who seem to think that the younger generation simply asks daddy for money to buy their car, you stand corrected, I'm 20, work easily for my living and I'm able to afford this vehicle without breaking a sweat. So think again, and don't underestimate the ability of someone simply because they are younger.

I think that it is annoying when people think that my dad bought my car because I'm only seventeen, I like the TT I bought with my own money, but there is a couple of things wrong with it the thing I don't like the most about it is when I'm driving fast the wheel turns with every gust of wind, but other than that it is a sweet car.
