3 new head gaskets at 127000, 142000 and 176000 km.
New torque converter at 134000 km.
New engine at 181000 km, including new radiator.
New engine immediately leaked oil and the re-manufacturer was unable to cure the leak.
New CV joints at 156000 km.
The worst car I have ever had the displeasure to own.
Totally unreliable, lousy dealer service, parts prices and service costs exorbitant.
Shocking handling, despite new shockers and suspension rubbers.
The car always pulled to the left, no matter what was attempted to correct the problem.
The first and ONLY Japanese car I will ever own - eventually sold to a scrap dealer.
Hi.
I can't believe you went through so many head gaskets. You don't hoon your car do you? Hooning is the 2nd biggest cause of blown head gaskets, the first being overheating (by neglect -not checking the coolant level probably).
I bought my Camry 'on the cheap', and it ended up being not so cheap, but I am still not unhappy with my purchase. It's a comfortable ride (with the automatic), but I do hate the current suspension on it -it's just too soft.
Don't let one bad experience put you off Jap cars, I'd rather have a Jap car than any American (or Aussie) made car. Alright the parts are expensive with the rice burners, but there are ways around that problem -just don't buy new, or the factory issue!

I seems to me that people want a Rolls Royce for 20 cents
just spend a buck on the old bus and it will keep on motoring. (TLC)
