Have renewed steering rack, brakes all round, new exhaust. Think the control unit may be needing replaced, probably expensive part.
The car is very good to drive and is very spacious as I am big man 6ft 5 tall
and also quite large in bulk size seats are very comfortable, I hope to have this car as long as possible if I get 10years from it will be really happy, we have Ministry tests here and are strict.
I find it economical just petrol in UK is expensive.
There isn't much rust on body for such an old car I have only rust on wheel arch at rear drivers side.
My only problems are electrical all seems to be at control unit and not much info on it in manuals, which is sad
and speedometer is always working on and off.
In regards to your speedometer intermittent fault, I had the same problem, you can either replace the sensor in the rear axle or readjust it correctly. If it works on and off it most likely means your speedometer sensor is not adjusted correctly and this might also cause problems with your ABS brakes. Another option is that the problem might be located in your instrument cluster, each instrument can be replaced separately however the printed circuit is a bit fragile so try to be careful when replacing parts in your instrument cluster.
