"One of the fastest saloon's you can buy. Fantastic drive!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Fuel pump at 118k. Cost 400 dollars to replace. Dealer would have been 500.

General comments?

This car is great. For the cost and type of car it is I think it is fantastic.

Still does 60 in under 8 seconds and very easily will go over 140mph. Recently blew away the one, but newest maxima mark ('01 or '02 I think) on the freeway where it accelerated from about 85mph, I caught up with it and after hitting 140 it was still getting to 130ish. He was furious, I would be too if I had a new one.

Apart from peformance, this car is very comfortable, except for the clutch being so deep (and I'm, 6 '1) it is very spacious and easily carries 5 full size adults. Long journeys are a breeze, apart from the cruise will only let you go up to 95mph so I can't use it if there's an open road. Economy is also very good for a car with this type and size of engine.

Would love to buy the new one, but I'm leaving the country at the end of the summer. Oh well.

1992 Maxima SE - 148K miles ----

- had since 1995

- paid off since 1998

- electrical issues since 2000

- oil leaks, transmission oil leaks too

- water in trunk when it rains

- RUNS LIKE A CHAMP

- CAN PASS MOST LATE 90'S CARS AND SOME EARLY 2000'S MODELS

- today, 6/24/2005 - need fuel pump replaced --- cost of part and material are more than the trade in value --- it's a sad day for me.
