When I was test driving the car, the engine stalled and wouldn't start back up and it turned out that it was just a switch on the transmission that had to be UN-plugged. The dealer told me what to do with no hesitation.
The headliner was falling down when I first got the car, but the dealer fixed it.
There was a few paint chips all over the drivers side door and some paint was coming off on the edges of the door.
The previous owner of the car drove the car underneath of a barbed wire fence so there was a lot of scratches on the hood and was fixed with scratch filler and some paint from Auto-Zone that didn't look too good because the color was dull and you could see sparkles in the paint and the color half-way didn't match the color of my car... Different tone.
The gas cap was rusting off so it was hanging off of the car, I never replaced it because I never had the time.
The interior was wearing out, like the carpet was coming up, the seats were tearing, the dash was cracking very badly and it was coming up. The lid of the middle console was tearing.
The power steering pump was making a lot of noise and when the car was first started I had to muscle the steering wheel around because it wouldn't turn. This problem only occurred when the vehicle was cold.
The major problem I had with this car is that it only had three gears and the top speed was only 105 MPH which was a major problem in high speed areas.
This car was a dream, it had a lot of speed and drove great. This car was extremely reliable because you could do anything to this car and it just wouldn't die. I drove this car to the max and it never showed any signs of fatigue or showed any signs of losing horsepower. The gas mileage for this car was good, but not great, I got 17MPG in the city and 23MPG on the highway. The previous owner of this car apparently modified the engine a lot because this car was faster than a 1999 Mustang Cobra. Even though the car didn't look too great and the interior was wearing badly it was still a great car and it was a great first car because it wouldn't die and it need little maintenance. I would recommend this car to anyone and I would love to buy another GM vehicle after this one.
This car's acceleration was 0-60 MPH in 3.2 Seconds and 0-100 MPH in 5.9 Seconds.
There is no way that your 88 Baretta GT went from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. I don't care how heavily modified it was. And why would someone who modified it so much treat the exterior and interior like absolute crap?
There is absolutely no way that a Beretta can go 0-60 in 3.2 seconds or 0-100 mph in 5.9 seconds even with a JATO bottle attached. You should apply for Ripley's believe it or not.
Stop the drug abuse you'll do much better!
Yes, it will! I once had a Geo Metro- stock 3 cyl engine- - it would run a 1/4 mile in 9 seconds with a top speed of 157mph!! All this with one spark-plug wire off Best of all- I still got 71 mpg's!
You definitely need to stop dreaming!there is no way you are from this planet! (obviously you are not serious). The only way a metro could hit that speed is if you drop it from a plane. I was told that a metro's acceleration is glacial at best.
