I purchased this LS as a replacement for the Continental that was having nothing but problems. The LS is no different.
This car has had at least 4 episodes where it refuses to start, sounds like it has no compression... You can crank on it until the battery goes dead. It has been towed away numerous times. It just got towed yesterday, and is over 100 miles from my home. Dealer will go through his usual BS and say 'checked it out and found nothing wrong' This seems to always happen after the car has been moved a short distance, (few hundred feet or so). I am ready to ram the dealers showroom with this car.
I LIKE the car, but it is a $40000++ dollar unreliable tank.
It has plenty of power, and is comfortable, nice to drive, but if its not reliable why have the car? I am going to tell Lincoln they can have it back I just will walk away from it.
Exact same problem with my LS. One cold morning, at 6 months old & 5k miles on the odometer the engine just cranked and cranked and wouldn't fire. Had the car towed to the dealer and they claimed I flooded the engine! I didn't want to argue at the time, but I knew they just couldn't figure out what was wrong so I drove it off. Next week the same thing happened again, but I was 300 miles from home. Had the car towed again to a local Ford dealer where the problem was correctly diagnosed. Don't recall the exact name of the failing part, but it was something like an "Air Flow Regulator" - controls the amount of air going to the engine. They got the car running, but didn't have the part. Took it back to my dealer and they replaced it and now everything is OK with that particular issue. But there have been others. I leased this car and I can't wait for the end of the lease! You just don't trust a car again after its let you down like that.
