I am experiencing the same problems as other owners.
First the left driver's side power window started to experience intermitting problems. Would not go up or down. Dealer would not fix because it wasn't happening when taken in for service. A year later with a little over 24K miles and three and half years old the window stops working. Repair cost approximately $380. No warranty now.
When the vehicle was in for an oil change and the window problem the dealer discovered a coolant leak and decided the upper intake manifold needed to be replaced. This cost over $400 and again, not under warranty.
I have read other owners have reported the same problems. How many others have these situations that are not being reported.
For a car with less than 25K miles and just over three years old, these types of problems should not be occurring.
2000 buick power window problems.I'm in the used car business and every 2000 buick la sabra we have sold has window problems. i have stopped buying them.
Re: Power window problems with the 2000 Buick LeSabre:
Have owned this car for 3 months now. Has 34000 miles on it.
Driver side window went first at 32000 miles. Now driver side rear window out at 34000. Do we see a pattern here??
Which one will be next and when?? Can only assume it will be soon!!

I have just had the drivers side window repaired for $500. The motor is working, but they stated that the motor and cable are sold together so the motor had to be replaced when the cable became tangled.
My 2000 LeSabre had its drivers window motor replaced and tracks realigned just after the warranty went off (Sept 2003). I was on vacation when the warranty ended, but my dealer paid for it. My front passenger window started to go up and down slowly one month later. I have not bothered to fix it and won't until it stops.
Not a LeSabre, but I just had my 2000 Regal drivers' side power window repaired for $540 with only 38,000 miles. The passengers' rear stopped working at 36,200 miles just like it knew the warranty was up. I couldn't afford to have both done so I only had them repair the drivers' window. I think Buick knows something is wrong... when I called the dealer for an appointment, I mentioned a "window problem" and he immediately said "...oh, your driver's side doesn't work?"
The 2000 Buick LeSabre I owned has had four window motors replaced in 60k miles. Is this not a pattern that the manufacturer should address since two of the four were on seldom used windows?
Bought my 1998 Buick LeSabre, with the 3.8 liter engine, used in February 2000. In November 2000 intake manifold gasket started leaking. Total cost $ 574.50 at Buick garage. On 6 October 2003 gasket failed and anti-freeze went into oil and spark plugs. Cost $820.00. Buick garage says this is a rare occurence. However, when checking local auto wreck yards for a replacement manifold, my mechanic was told they don't have any because the fail so often!
My 2000 Buick Lesabre has had the right back window go out about 1 month ago. I was told the regulator and motor was out and it would cost approx $400 to fix. Just this week the right front window has stopped working (appears to be switch or some type electrical problem.
The intake manifold failed on our 1998 Buick Le Saber at less than 48,000 miles. A hole in the plastic near where the throttle body mounts allowed coolant to enter the engine. Repairs amounted to over $1,000.00, none of which was paid by Buick. A web search shows this to be an on-going problem with the 3.8 engine in the GM cars. Apparently, this problem develops over time and usually will not show up until shortly after the vehicle is out of warranty. At least that is what happened in my case.
Purchased 2000 Buick LeSabre with 26,700 in 10/02. Rear passenger power window regulator went out at 38,800 (just outside of warranty). Part $250 + tax and $85 labor.
I bought a 2000 Buick LeSabre in December of 2002. It had about 41,000 miles on it and is around 45,000 miles now. Yesterday I had the same problem it seems a lot of other people are having in regards to their windows malfunctioning. The rear driver side door window is now malfunctioning and I am unable to even pull the window backup so it remains closed. I haven't brought it in for repairs yet, but was quoted $75 for an estimate and at least additional $200-300 for repairs. The service tech I talked to sounded like it was not the first time he had heard about this problem. I think I'll just fix it myself as I believe this will happen again sometime soon from what I have been reading.
I have a 2001 buick lesabre with 36,400 miles on it. I was leaking anti freeze and it smelled like burning anti freeze when the car was running. I took it to my dealership and guess what, it needed a new upper intake manifold the tec said it was warped. luckey when I bought the car new I purchased the major guard warranty which covers 72 months and 75 thousand miles. get the extended coverage it will be
used and for a piece of mind.
I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre. The first two passenger side windows went out within one month. Now the driver's side front window is out. Each one cost $380 to $400 to replace. I am waiting now for window #4 to go out. I have also read other comments that once replaced, those regulators also break after a short time. This is extremely costly.
I have a 2000 LeSabre and at three and a half years old, but with only 20,000 miles, the drivers and passenger side window have stopped working. The repair is around $400 each time. Even though it is the cable that is breaking, the repair includes the motor and the support brackets. I am afraid to use the windows anymore. Shouldn't there be a recall on this. Who can we contact to address this problem? GM customer service at 1-800-521-7300 took no interest in the problem as it was out of warranty.
I just bought a 2000 Le sabre with 51,000 miles. It had 2 window problems repaired at 50,000 miles - a switch and a regulator. Recently the left rear window regulator went out at 53,000 miles. The repair cost $380.
Is there anything that can be done? Buick has a design problem for sure!
