"Eat gas, won't move"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Air conditionning not working, as for most Tempo's.

I had to buy a new alternator and have the starter rebuilt since the car wouldn't start.

I had to change the whole exhaust line since rust when through it.

I had to change the coil springs on the front wheels since they were broken when I bought the car.

I had to change two brake hoses, due to rust again.

General comments?

This car eats way too much gas. More than twice the Toyota's we have do. In summer I'd need about 13 liters/ 100 kilometers. That's almost as much as a pickup truck! In winter (and with gas at 87.5 cents) I won't reach 250 km with 30$ worth of gas.

The car is very rusty, the floor is eaten through.

However, there is no risk of it being stolen, the insurance is very cheap and nothing expensive has broken in the last 6 months (except a brake hose and routine brake maintenance).

The trunk is massive and still has plenty of space even with my 2 sub woofers :)

I had a 91 Tempo that was way more hassle than it was worth. It broke down constantly and was a complete safety hazard to me and everyone else on the road. And of course the A/C worked in the winter and the heat worked in the summer.
