"A torquey and reliable car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

EGR pipe had caroded at around 126,000 km's.

General comments?

Excellent performance (0 - 100km'h in 9.7 seconds)

Good fuel economy from a engine of this technology.

I have kept the factory stainless steel extractors and converted the exhaust to a 2.5 inch free flow system.

A future mod will be a 5 speed manual which will drop the 0 - 100km'h times to the mid to high 8's.

My dad is driving my soon to be dream car... the VK Berlina l admire these old Holden Commodores our VK has a 3.3 EFI motor in it with and 3 speed auto. The three speed trimatic it a pretty average transmission reason being cause it revs its head of when your doing over 130kms! I agree with what you said about putting in a 5 speed manual gearbox, it will enhance the performance and will have more of a fuel economy. Common rust areas are in the front LHS guard at the top above the antenna and around the front windscreen at the bottom LH corner. We have had about 3 VK's and not one has let us down. There a excellent old car.
