I'm buying a VTR in a couple of months. What garage did you get £7999 at with metallic paint, as the cheapest I've found has been £7992 + 300 for metallic? Would be handy to know, as if my local Citroen garage can't match that then I'll buy from where you got yours. Cheers.

I don't think the Furio's that bad, but for all the price difference, why not just go for the VTR?

My VTR is fast, but is the worst car I have ever owned.

It is very uncomfortable and has a weird driving position.

The interior is cheap and rubbish for what is quite an expensive car.

I think it's a good thing citroen have stopped making this rubbish.

Hi.

I'm the original writer of the review. I had very few problems with the Saxo during the time I had it. Was a great car, but seemed so outdated after a couple of years and have bought a C2 VTS. It's better in every respect, particularly performance, safety and surprisingly handling.

I'd still recommend the Saxo though - great fun little car.

As for the writer who thought the Furio was good/better than a VTR - I disagree, but I accept everyones got different opinions, but trust me, the C2 VTS is much much better!

I am looking into buying a VTR. I have a furio now. I have heard bad things about saxo's, but I have had no trouble with mine in the year that I have owned it. Should I take the plunge and buy the VTR?

I will also post a review of the VTR after I test drive it. Will be interesting to see just how much quicker the VTR is than the furio.

Yeah I agree with the above comment. I have owned a furio for one year and I now have a MK2 VTR. The VTR is quicker to 80 for sure.

Is it quicker than my zx9?

Zx9? Isn't that one of those strange 2 wheeled things? I think its called a motorbike.

Ahah! But is your ZX9 faster than my right hand gesture LOL...

OK... let's get back to cars - this is 'car-survey' after all LOL.

I think the Saxo VTR is a superb handling and nippy little car in the right hands/and feet! Especially for those who can't afford the genuinely quick Saxo VTS insurance premium.

Its successor, the C2 VTS, is even better in most areas, except a smidgen slower than its predecessor, but that's no biggie. I don't care so much for all the 'my car/bike/mouse is faster than yours...' (human nature I suppose!) but I love great handling cars. Hats off to the Saxo and C2.

No its not faster than your ZX9 but I don't really like motorbikes.

02/03 VTR (ones with 100bhp engines) are surprisingly quick; mine does not feel out of puff at 80, but at around 115. I very impressed with the VTR; I did not expect such speed from it. I raced a few Furio's and I thought they was 1.1's LOL.
