Front fog lights do not work together.
Supercharger belts, pullies, and tesion arms had to be replaced.
Battery side posts FELL out.
Water pump leaked (replaced)
Thermostat (replaced)
coolent flush.
Transmission rebuilt TWICE
this year most recent.
Seat cannot be pushed far enough back from steering wheel to fully extend arms.
The second I laid eyes on this car I fell in love. It was everything I always wanted, (Black on Black leather, sunroof, cd player, supercharger), but thought I'd never have.
Then things started to go wrong. It started with the Supercharger, I wanted to change the oil (as owner's manual suggested) a forty dollar estimate turned into a 790 dollar total. (new pullies, tesion arms belts,)
Then the battery (side post) just fell out.
The front fog lamps do not work together, a good hard 'smack' on the bumper gets them to come on for a short time.
The water pump had to be replaced, as did the thermostat, and coolant.
But the biggest upset and surprise was the Transmission (Automatic) has failed TWICE in 13 months, with no warning.
Wow - sounds like you had a lemon from the factory.
I am driving a 1995 Olds Delta 88 Royale (3800 Series II)
And I have had to replace my front bearings at 160 000km, and my fuel sending unit at 180 000kms... that's it.
I have heard a lot of people say they loved their oldsmobile, so when I hear of someone who seemed to have got a lemon, I feel bad - because mine has paid for itself!
Mine is great. 180,000 miles only fluid changes, brakes and a water pump.
