I had to put a new clutch in because I was a new drive and it had 120,000. It cost about $800... not cheap!
The master cylinder on the clutch was leaking, leaked into the car and made a mess, but oh well. I replaced it myself, had to make a "special tool" wink wink, but the part was only like $70.
The seats were leather, and it was 10 years old so they were tearing. That's expected.
Power antenna was broken when I got it.
And the most major thing was that the engine was missing on a cylinder.. which killed performance. It would have cost a lot to fix, but I bought the $200 valve tool and fixed it myself.
Fast car that looks good, but it is expensive to fix and modify.
I love that car... it was my baby. It was also a rocket and all of the girls loved it, but I had to get a truck. I thought about crying when I sold it, but then I decided to get another one when I had the money to fix it up and get some real good speed.
I have a 92 3000gt myself, I was recently advised that I had a chipped or bent vaulve. how difficult would this be to repair myself. I know a fair amount about cars, the part is cheap so I assume that the labor is where the cost is at. can you give me any ideas? I am pretty sure it is an exhaust vaulve?
My clutch on my 92 3000gt just gave out. It smells like it is burning. Do you think This could be something high cost.
I'm almost 17 years old, and I am in love with all 3000GTs. There's a '92 Sl down the street from me and I plan on asking the guy if he'll sell it because it's been covered with leaves in his driveway for weeks now. Just wondering if I would be able to afford this car. Because it will need new tires and probably some goodies under the hood. I really want it!
