Alternator and Starter broke.
Power steering is starting to leak.
Leather seats have been abused and starting to wear.
Tires seem to wear out quickly.
The engine and transmission on these cars have been described as bullet-proof. No problems at all. It does not leak or burn oil. And the oil is always gold.
I myself also own a 1982 supra unfortunately the transmission and motor are not bullet proof the motors have one major problem; soft rod bearings, both of my brothers also owned supra's theirs were 84' models, but basically contain the same 2.8l 5mge motors both of theirs also spun a bearing it seems to be the # 2 or 3 rods that have the worst problems usually caused by low oil pressure or wear and tear. to try and prevent any problems if you recently bought a supra have the oil pressure checked at normal running temperature at an idle if it is low then chances are you're rod bearings are hurting replacing the rod bearings before any major crankshaft damage occurs isn't as hard as it sounds and is relatively inexpensive considering the cost of a complete overhaul, but if the problem is a worn oil pump you could be expecting a $350 $500 cost in new OEM replacement parts . thnx cur.
