Shifting problems from second to third when cold.
Check engine light always on.
P/s power window intermittent.

Steering gearbox leak at lower shaft. Had to replace gear box at 55,000 miles.
The truck has more horse power than stock due to option package.
It has very good acceleration and handling.
I get more compliments for my truck than my Mustang.
There are about 2,800 Indy Pace Trucks ever made. They were only in 1996. The only color was Viper Blue with white stripes.
The resale is higher than any other truck Dodge makes.
To check engine codes: Turn key on, off, on, off, on... count the flashes of the check engine light. this will give you the codes... I would guess your problem is the EGR valve.
My dad owns one of the pace trucks and it lay rubber pretty good and takes out honda's and the dodge hemi. it is in great shape and we have no problems with it. buying tires is not cheap either. it has never ever seen winter at all it starts up good. there is two pace trucks around where we live. and enjoy your pace truck.
I own a 1996 Indy pace truck, and I liked so much I went and bought a 1998 dodge ram SS/T. I enjoy both trucks and haven't had a problem with either one. They both handle great for being trucks and take down a lot of fast cars at the drag track. My advice to others that own these trucks is to hang on to them, there rare and getting rarer.
The Dodge Ram Pace Truck is the only way to go! I bought mine new in June of 1996 and sold it in May of 2004. I bought a new Red Hemi Quad Cab at that time. I sold the Pace Truck on Ebay with it having 99,600 miles on it. I never had any trouble with it. I only had to replace the battery, brakes, alternator and tires. A year and a half later I saw it back on Ebay and bought it back. I had to drive a little over five hundred miles to get it back. I will never sell this truck again - it is pushing ten years old, but it still turns heads especially mine!

and still run good. It has a K N air filter and it takes
93oct gas. It has blue tinted windows too.
I have a 1996 Indy Dodge Ram for sale. It is blue with white stripes. Low miles and in pretty good condition. It has been in my garage for 4 yrs. It runs great.
