1996 Ferrari F50 F130 from North America - Comments

"Fast, beautiful, emotional"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Airbag was replaced after inflating when I slammed the door - If it happens again I'm selling her.

Brakes frequently lock up at relatively low speeds - Ferrari tells me this is my fault.

Occasional ignition failure - this is not a lada.

General comments?

Like a newborn child, this car is beautiful, but sickly - I love it, but am afraid of taking it out in the open.

To those who think that owning an expensive car is an expression of arrogance, I can only say that it is like owning a beautiful painting or sculpture. I genuinely think that it is a work of art and when I bring it into the Californian sun, despite the heat it makes me shiver.

Finally, for those who doubt the integrity of people who write on this site, just think for a second that as you are now, so once were we. We love cars and we love talking about cars. Why shouldn't we want to engage with other people like us, like you...?

That's interesting... I've never seen one with airbags.

Yes very interesting. Airbags are deployed by extreme decelleration sensors, not impact sensors. But if you say so...

I'm open minded, but if he had a side impact, the airbag would deploy? That isn't deceleration, that's lateral acceleration. Your right though. I've never seen a Ferrari with airbags.

You have never seen a Ferrari with air bags. Now that's funny. I see Ferrari's today with air bags.

And why is the performance on the Ferrari rated at 10/10 and not at 9/10?

In 96 they didn't... an F50 NEVER had air bags

they didn't need it because it came with a 5 point seat belt!

He's driven less than 800 miles per year in this car!

Why use it so little?

Any ideas, anyone?

Well if I owned a F50 I would only take it out every couple of months and probably only around town or to a race track.

Wouldn't want it getting too well known around the place (because if people see it more often they'll get used to it and eventually probably not take as much notice of it). ;)

Why would a Ferrari bother with airbags? you hit anything it wouldn't really matter... I think your fibbing...

The F50 never had airbags...

I think some kinds do.

Your ABS system is prolly screwing up your brakes at low speeds. Another electrical mess up like the ignition.

Why do you need airbags? If you're gonna crash in a ferrari then do it in style and over the top. Leaving barely anything left for the authorities to classify or even find out who was driving. I wouldn't ever be caught in a fender bender with a ferrari, it'd just be embarrasing telling the officer I couldn't hit the brakes fast enough...

"Airbag was replaced after inflating when I slammed the door". Why would you slam the door of such a work of art?
