"Definitely a niche product, but well serving to those who require this type of vehicle"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing. The truck has not failed us in any way so far.

General comments?

However, I do have a gripe with the manufacturer. I paid an additional premium for "extended run" coolant and differential fluid. The standard service interval for the differential is 7500 miles. Now that I am above the 7500 mile mark, the dealer suggests changing the differential fluid. I have made 2 web inquiries and 1 voice inquirie regarding what the "extended run" fluid equates to I'm mileage. But the manufacturer has avoided providing me with a definitive answer.

See if this helps. GM dropped the mileage recommendation for all differential services after 1999. The mileage recommendation for GM trucks prior to 1999 was 15k. The gear oils they are currently using "extended life" does not really apply. The rear differential has a synthetic oil that in theory will last longer than the conventional oil used in pre 99 trucks. It has been my experience that it still requires regular changes. Usually closer to 15K, not 7500 miles. Gm dropped the 7500 mile recommendation with the older astro vans and camaro's. The coolant on the other hand will last for five years of 150,000 miles as long as it is kept completely full. Friendly bit of advice on that truck. Change the fuel filter every 20K. It's cheap insurance against a fuel pump.
