There are not many things that have gone wrong with this car considering it is an eight year old car. I don't know a lot of things about it like the cost to run it, and reliability. Anyway, the number one thing that has gone wrong with the car is the paint. I have heard that Chevrolet had a big problem with the primer they used, as a result the paint off the top of my car and the hood is slowly coming off. One other think is the driver side interior, its starting to wear, which is common for a vehicle with this many miles.
I absolutely love this car, it is my first car, and what a great car to have. Before I bought my car, I read a lot of your reviews, it seems like you guys have quite a lot of trouble sometimes with the camaro. I think it all depends on how you treat it. Treat it well, and it will treat you well. I trust Chevrolet and know they are great cars. My dad has a 91 silverado, with 190,000 miles on it! It runs smoother than my moms 2001 durango with 50,000 miles! My brohter has a 91 Blazer, same for it, it's a great car, and is very reliable. Also I read a lot of your reviws saying how it dosnt have enough speed. I think it has great speed for the v6 that's in it. Its pretty much as fast as my friends 91 mustang 5.0 gt. It handles like a dream. One other comment is the front end! It bothers me so much that I can't see! It cuts off at the dashboard and I never know if I am going to hit the curb or not. But anyway treat your camaro good, and it will be a beautiful car, I know mine is. As it sits in the drive way with the keys locked inside it. : (
I have a 1994 Z-28 and I want to comment on a couple things you said, first off, your title. Now don't get me wrong, the V6 Camaro is a great car (but of course, it's a camaro!), but V8 capabilility?!?! Have you ever driven a Z-28 or an SS Camaro? I'm sorry, but nothing compares to an LT-1 or LS-1 growling at you and torquing the entire car. The V6 Camaros don't hold a candle in the wind to a V8 Camaro. The second thing is proof of my first comment. You said that it'll PRETTY MUCH KEEP UP WITH your buddies 5.0L Mustang. Well, if you have ever driven a Z-28 or SS Camaro you would know that a Mustang will get eaten up by a good running Z-28 or SS any day of the week. I'm not saying there isn't fast Mustangs out there, just saying that if you put a bone stock, base model Z-28 up against a bone stock, base model Mustang, the Camaro will eat it alive. A buddy of mine had a Boss 302 Mustang and my BONE STOCK Z-28 ate it alive by 3 car lengths in 1/4 mile. He sold it 2 days later. My Z-28 gets 15 mpg in town and 18 on the highway, so, I don't consider that too bad with 142,000 miles on the ole girl, it's all how you drive it. If you lay into it, you'll almost be able to sit and watch the gas guage drop, but if you don't hotrod it, you'll see 15-16 mpg. Have a good one.
Yea I would have to agree. I have a 3.4 L 1995 black camaro that I love dearly. Although it is a quick little car, it doesn't hold a candle to the V8 camaro. The SS and the Z28's are unbelieveable machines. I highly recommend you test drive one just to get the feal for the difference in capability. The 3.4 is a fun ride, but personally I wish I would have at least got a 3.8L V6 instead. It is also great on gas, but the real reason is that the 3800 engine exploded in sales the following year, GM is still putting it in many of its cars. Not to mention all the great performance parts they have made for the 3800. Now that is an engine that you can really fine tune to beat some cars. I've seen some relativly small tunes in those engines that go off and waste the Mustang GT 4.6L. Although so do a lot of cars, because its underpowered. Anyways good luck with your car man, I love mine too.
I have a 96 camaro RS/Y87/F-4 Package camaro and when I was stock I ran 14.2 and I believe the LT-1 runs 13.5 - 13.8
So I must have a big candle.
Dude, I think I might know who you are. Your name wouldn't happen to be Brian would it?
Hey I have a 1993 Camaro, I was wondering if anyone would have any pictures of a 3.4 engine. I need pictures mainly of the EGR, alternator bracket, and vacuum hoses on top. well if anyone would happen to have some or are able to get some email them to me a Pb064@sbcglobal.net.thanks...also the guy with the 3.4, how did you even stay close to the 5.0. I've ridden in a few and there fast. well any help is needed...thanks.
My 1995 Camaro V6 is definitely the best used car a have ever owned. It has excellent performance and power, handling, style and interior comfort. I love the factory installed Bose sound system. I am the second owner and so far had no mechanical break-downs. The only thing it needed so far was regular maintenance like replacing brakes, air filter, spark plugs and wires. She now has 168,000 miles of reliable service, but I make sure she is well maintained. I highly recommend this car to anyone looking for reliability, superb handling, power and speed with economy. By the way, the 1995 Camaro was rated with a five star by the government for a driver and passenger front crash.
