First week of ownership, my oil seal was leaking.
My check engine light came on during the second month of ownership ("it was just a computer problem").
The paint is pealing on my bumper.
This car has been recalled 4 times (if I'm not mistaken).
Dealer service is awful and warranty is misleading.
Many things were not covered under this that "should have been".
Transmission jumps a lot an it is getting worse.
After one year there was black smoke coming out of my air conditioner vents (what was this, I don't know, but it cost me $300 to fix out of pocket)
Brakes wear very fast.
It is okay to get you here and there. If you drive a lot do not by this car because you will always be going to the dealer.
I would not buy another.
My 2000 Hyundai Accent GL and warranty was very miss leading and very dispointing. I trusted my sales person and dealer ship to be honest. My car started giving me problems with seals leaking and engine sounding loud. I took it to dealer in Woodbridge, Va and they gave me the run around I took car in at 40,000 miles they gave me run around and kept saying I needed to make importment the service manager told me that I had to pay 150.00 to look at it. I told him my car was under warranty, but still told me I need to pay them 150.00. Which contract in warranty said 0 detectable I was treated unfairly. They acted as though I was a crook they did fix vows. But still having problems with engine at 64,000 miles. and I did recieve all my oil changes faith fully. they did not want to honor my warranty. I bought the car at same dealer ship. Bought extended warrenty to. I paid for them to be honest and they told me if something happen I would be cover no question. I am hard working mom with 2 boys and not alot of time on my hands and I thought I was getting a reliable dependable car.
I had the same problem with my bumper. The original bumper was fine, but someone ran a stop sign and hit my car, ruining the bumper. I got a brand new bumper shipped from the factory and a week later the paint was peeling. I took it back to be resprayed at no cost to me. The Hyundai guys told me that this is a huge problem and they have to respray bumpers all the time because of the type of plastic Hyundai uses. Apparently the paint won't adhere to the plastic, but I guess it's cheaper to respray later than to fix it in the plant.
