2003 Kish Khodro Sinad Coupe from Iran - Comments

"A good Iranian car.."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing, it was a test drive.

General comments?

First, I will begin by saying that this is not my car; I rented it when I visited Iran. Anyway, this car is one of the best Iranian-built cars (that's right, Iran does build cars) on the market there. It comes in two body styles: hatchback and coupe. Only a couple of years ago, the only cars seen on Iranian roads was the ancient and unrefined Paykan. Rivers of these rebadged Hillman Hunters (remember those old 70's cars?) flowed through the country. Now, things are starting to improve with the new Samand, on sale, and the Sinad. The Samand is a car that was built with the help of French corporations. It is much better than the Paykan, but it can't compete with American autos. There are other cars sold in Iran too, like Renault and Nissans. For more info, go to www.irkhodro.com or www.kishkhodro-sinad.com. Enjoy!

Kish Khodro?

I have never heard of it. I never knew Iran built cars, but as we say in America, "I learn something new every day."

Iranian cars have improved in the last 10 years we now sell samand which is 90% iranian made and 10% french made to russia and syria and ukraine and egypt and senegal and pakistan and UAE and many other countrys around the world and the company that makes it is called Iran Kodro which is the biggest car company in the middle east and in the Islamic world and second in asia after Japanese made companys But Iranian cars are really coming to the world and in 10 yeras time it will be all over the world.

I just had a look on the website out of curiosity. The Veek is based on a Renault Megane Scenic- I don't know why they changed the front bumper as the original design by Renault looks a lot better.

As for the coupe, I'm sorry to say it, but I think it's one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen. It looks like a childs drawing turned into a bar of soap, people washed their hands a few times and the new mould was used for the car. Really awful design.

If Iranian cars did take over the world, I would take the bus- or walk. : (
