The turbo blew twice in the first year and then again last year.
Sometimes it won't start, you just have to wait an hour or two.
The fault memory always says something is wrong with the car.
It makes some weird noises from behind the dashboard.
The headlamps never works on the left side of the car.
There is no color left on the side of the driver-seat even though it's leather.
Although I love the design I would never buy one of these again! It has serious problems with the quality.
Good work old chap. To drive 5000 km in three years and destroy 3 turbos is really an achievement. In my opinion, the fault is not in the car (I own one with 130000 km and no turbo problems, and I know three other owners (no problem) but with the driver which does not know how to treat a turbo car...
Turbo cars do require more care than a NA care. Several main rules:
1. Change the oil every 3,000 (regardless of what the manufacturers say)
2. Alwasy let the car idle for at least 30secs or so the allow the turbo to cool and slow down before switching the engine off (otherwise starving it of oil for lubrication and overheating it)
3. Never thrash a turbo car in the first 10 minutes of using it, allow engine to get to operating temperature first.
Good luck :)
I agree with the previous comments, I change my oil every 5000 miles, also use throttle progressively to build boost pressure, don't stamp it down.
