"A dog on performance. fuel economy and driving comfort"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing.

General comments?

Heavy steering caused shoulder problems.

Could not get comfortable.

Seats do not grip in corners, slide around because of nylon covers.

Manufacturer claims 28mpg urban, 38mpg motorway / freeway and 32 mpg combined. Dealer says you're doing well if you better 20, mine averaged 26 on mostly motorway/freeway.

Well put together, spacious, well equipped. Would buy a diesel automatic if they made one with lighter steering.

Rolls in corners.

Appalling acceleration, peak power at 5,000 revs. Not good at towing.

Not good at towing, ha!!!

We have an Ifor Williams 505 horsebox, which weighs in at nearly a ton. (unladen)

We have a diesel X trail, and it will tow nearly two, yes...2... ton easily.

Our horses are travelled up and down the length of the country, and it will tow quite happily in the 5th of it's six gears all day long on the motorway, at 55 to 60mph.

This puts the rev counter at, wait for it...

1800 revs, yes 1800 revs. The engine is hardly having to work at all.

This is with two horses in and fully loaded car. People and all...

It has been quoted as nearly the IDEAL tow car due to its weight distribution; tow weight and ability to SWITCH from two-wheel drive to FOUR-wheel drive in an instant.

Ours is 2002 and not a young girls by any means, still it pulls for England and to say they are all rubbish, is a sin. Shame on you...!!!

Recalls aside, Nissan make an excellent car.

Enough said.
