Nothing yet, and I don't think anything will ever go wrong!
For the fortunate few who are wealthy enough to buy this car, this has got to be the ultimate Mercedes. I haven't experienced anything like it it my entire life! It's damn gorgeous, and the engine packs an amazing 493 horsepower and 516 pounds of torque, enough to get yourself killed! Its 0-60 time is clocked at 4.3 seconds, which makes it king of the road. My only reservation with the car is that it will give valets wicked ideas, and Motor Trend magazine seems to share my concern. The bottom line is: this isn't a car to park on the street. But that's no big deal; if I want to drive in the city I'll take my Jaguar X-type instead.
One thing about the 98- newer benz v8 is replace your crankshaft pulley (defective) renntech has the upgrade so it is either upgrade now or pay area of $2500 + for repair, but I also love the cl55 black/ash.

I am currently trying to decide on the CL 55 vs. the S55. I have an F355 for the occasional Sunday morning adrenaline pump. I also have 4 kids which I know I will occasionallly have with me when not in the SUV. I just wonder if the ingress and egress of only 2 doors and possible more than 2 passengers might become a pain in the rear.
For more than 2 passengers is OK to have an CL, but only from time to time. For daily use with 4 people the CL is innapropriate. I have one, I just bought it, it's sensational! It's from 2001 with 61.000 km and I can say it's a dream car for any human! OK, let's keep David Beckham out of this...
I worked for 1 year as a valet and I agree with you: park the car by yourself, don't valet your car specially if you own a powerful car because valets will take turns to drive the s*** out of your car... I've seen M3s, ferraris and AMGs doing well over 100mph between two stop signs.
Sad, but true: must of the young people work as a valet to drive cars that they will never own in their life, that's why this is happening (Los Angeles).
I own older Mercedes models ('87 2.3-16 and '95 sl500 coupe) but noone touches them, but me.
Are any of the comments on build quality (ESPECIALLY RUST!!) on this site from Europeon owners indicative of cars imported to US? I've been seriously contemplating a used CL500 but am now concerned re these rust / thin paint experiences.
