When I got it, it needed 3 new tires, small panel under drivers door needed spraying and the engine was quite dirty.
After what I thought would be a serious "Downgrade" from a 2.0 cavalier I was taken completely by surprise. Firstly it only cost £1000 for a P reg car, it has a full GT body kit, it has remote central locking electric windows, bucket seats, nice interior, a rev counter, body coloured bumpers and looks really sporty with 5 spoke alloys, a GT spoiler and a headlight conversion.
Next is the sound of the engine, I was expecting it to sound like a screaming 1.1 peugeot 106 but after 3000 revs it has quite a "throaty" sound and can be further enhanced with a K&N air filter, which makes it sound cool.
Then there is the fuel economy, after totally killing the engine, it still chucks back 30+ mpg. Couldn't believe I was putting £25 for a full tank and getting 300+ miles.
The Speed!! Will kill a cavalier 2.0 probably all the way up to 60. Will leave my mates Novas SRI at the finish line. I have owned a peugeot 106 1.1i and the Ax is just some much faster (even though they have the same engine, the pick up at 60mph is incredible, will do 110 top speed, probably touch 60 in 11 seconds, possibly less.
Downers, it is made of plastic and cardboard, dints just by wind resistance, accidently nocked the side skirts of it.
Agree 100% mate.
