Had problems with the valve that controls the pressure in the varible ride system. The ride bacame hard as nails. Replaced both front and rear valves, works fine now.
Biggest problems I have had with this car, is a the electrics. The factory alarm is useless, looks like a GM add on. Also big problems with mineral oil leaks, which gets expensive f not fixed.
I like the car she is getting old now, hence the problems. I would have had the same thing or worse with any Mercedes or BMW. I am 6'6" and there is close to zero headroom, although I have heard Rolls have a special chair just for us tall chaps. The ride is out of this world, and although the car doesent turn nearly as many heads here in the USA, (because it is a square bodied tank like all the other 1980's cars), The ones that "know", "know" and the admirable nod is given. Something that there is no way you would receive in a Mercedes or BMW. Would I have another.. YES, without question. You can pick up a used Eight for Penuts. However I think I would throw in a extra buck or two for the Turbo R, or the Turbo Brooklands, just for a little zest to the trip. The eight accelarates great at speed, but 0-60 times...suck.
How can the cost be 6/10? Are you really that rich. If you are please buy me that BMW 545I I have been saving for.
I have a feeling he is that rich. If he believes a used Bentley costs "peanuts", then his idea of cheap vs expensive isn't the same as mine. To me, anything UNDER $10K is cheap. And I've never seen a Bentley priced that low.
I think that this review really relates to a Bentley Eight, which can be picked up very cheaply. The Continental did not appear until about 1992, and certainly is not a square box as is referred to in the review.
This gut must be extremely rich if he said this car is cheap my mom has been thinking of getting a used 745li and that car is very expensive, but my mom never says it costs peanuts. But I treat my moms car like it's a fragile piece if metal.
A BMW is a fragile piece of metal. A BENTLEY is a CRAFTED WORK OF ART. IF a bit on the expensive side, however as they say it "you get what you pay for" Probably one of the ONLY English made cars that's worth anything to have.
