1985 Toyota Corolla GTS from North America - Comments

"A drifty little unreliable thingy ;)"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Clutch died.

Ignitor died.

Heater died.

Rear springs/whatever stopped working right so the car would wheel-hop if you were to try and give it a little go.

General comments?

This car was pretty fun. It was light and would go around a curve sideways or straight glued to the ground.

It was darned expensive getting the ignitor fixed, since a similar part was not in the US or Canada, at all.

Pretty crazy.

It's a nice little car, not very practical, not the best fuel mileage either, and it definently wasn't worth the money for me.

I am going to go get something manly and V8ish now :)

I must disagree with your comment about the 1985 Corolla GTS. I've owned this car, and it was the most reliable, best on gas, and would take more abuse than any other car I've ever owned. I wasn't afraid to take this car anywhere in the country. Even when I sold it with a 190,000 miles on it I would have driven it anywhere. Even for as much abuse as I gave this car, it still had a lot of kick when I sold it.
