"Cruiser.."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Broken Cylinder Head.

New Bushes.

Door Handles.

Cracked dashboard.

Center console worn.

Tires.

Door Locks broken.

Radiator.

General comments?

I hated it when the cylinder head blew.

I had just bought the car, geez was I angry.

Thats when I had problems with the radiator.

There are a few problems with it since, but nothing that a bit of time and money cannot fix.

Its got 5 Spoke California mags on it, and a beautiful paint job.

I plan to get a 5.0 litre on it. That 3.3 was great for learning on.

But a 5.0 would do nicely. I am correct in that there are a few of these out there?

Next on the shopping list is new suspension, locks, muffler and a brand new exhaust.

Good car to start learning to drive with. You're right there are a few V8 xf's out there. My mates dad has made 5 V8 conversions on xf's. He drives an xf ute with a 351 (5.8 litre) cleveland with a 4 speed auto (ex f100 ambulance), and owned an xf wagon with a 302 (4.9 litre) in it.

Yeah mate I started with a 3.3 5 spd that was until the 3.3 gave up the ghost. I replaced it with a 302 win (fully recon) with a 4 spd singlerail best thing I ever did goes like a cut cat. just scored a disk brake v8 rearend (out of a xe) for it got to be able to stop when you have to Good luck with your project.

Gday, I have an XF, 3.3 4speed, but I'm not looking to put a V8 into it, going to put an OHC 4 ltr EB six and T5. Should give good performance as it has similar HP and torque to a EFI Windsor and less weight. And the six is cheaper and easier to find.

I have xf 250 cross flow, really good condition, i just did minor stuff like accel super coil and new alternator to make the most out of the good dizzy, make very sure there are no vacume leaks, then crow lpg gas cam, increased air induction velocity= increased torque, 4.1 cross flow has long stroke, I just enhance all that leverage, then up compression, shave head30 thou, next item will be extractors with high flow cat, and hot dog style resonator, next mod will be use fuel injection intake manifold on the carb engine, and use gas research dedicated carby, and make sure the gas converter can flow maybe approx 4 or five, then the car will throw you up the road at approx warp factor 7.5 maybe 8.
