This truck is fast, strong, and really good on gas. It gets twenty miles to the gallon city and twenty-one miles to the gallon highway. Compared to my 1998 Ford F-150 this is a big improvement.
When going off road it rides as smooth as it dose on the road. With few vibrations and less engine strain than my 1998 Ford F-150.Now I know what your thinking "Oh of course, but what size engine did your Ford have if your Chevrolet had a 5.7 liter". Well My Ford had a 5.6 liter Triton, and that my friend is a heavy duty Ford engine.
Comfort wise the Chevy is is a huge improvement over my 1998 Ford F-150. The Ford, s Interior I could classify as two cotton covered rocks. My Chevy on the other hand is as comfortable as your bed when your dead tired.
When I said this truck was fast I mean it. 5.7 liter when broken down is 350 cubic inches. My Chevrolet does 11.99 in the quarter mile.
I also said this truck was strong, well I mean it. This truck pulls my 34 foot Cabin Boat with ease. That pretty much speaks for its self.
The strength of this year's top engine isn't in question, neither is the durability of the truck.
However the comfort you speak if is a load of crap... What'd you do? Take out that horrible angle ridged bench seat and replace it with Lexus buckets???
What about the bumps? Why do you have Monroe Sensa-tracs in a work truck? We all know it's a big truck, there-hence-forth you feel every bump in the road...
20 mpg city and 21 mpg highway? 11.99 in the quarter? First off stock those trucks might get you 18-20 mpgs tops on the highway with maybe 14-16 mpg city. On top of your outstanding fuel economy I highly doubt a truck with well over 500 rwhp is gonna get that kind of fuel economy, I mean to do 11.99 in the quarter mile you need at least 500 rwhp or so. Hopefully you are talking about a truck you did heavy modifications to cause a stock engine and transmission certainly isn't going to get you anywhere near 11.99 in the quarter mile unless you mean 11.99 minutes. The 350 is an excellent engine, but your story is just way to far fetched.
The quarter mile times that you speak of is outrageous. My friends 1988 Silverado was slower than a Lumina another kid owned. In order to run 11.99 in the quarter mile with my 1981 Corvette I would have to knock a good 2 seconds off my quarter time. And the gas mileage is crazy too, my dads 2000 Silverado gets about 18 mpg, and its gets much better mileage than the old Silverados.
Yea right, youve done that et.I've got a 1500 with a worked out 454 and 456 gears and you beatme by 2 sec. in your dreams. i suggest getting a new stopwatch or put your truck on ripleys believe it or not.
I have to say that the truck does have a lot of power. I watched my husband pull a semi with his 2 wheel drive extended cab long bed. For a 2 wheel drive that says a lot. I can also tell that it does have a good ride for what it is. We have a 93 Grand Am all macked out and you really can feel every bump in the road.
All I wanted to say is that I hope the truck I just bought is anywhere near that. I just purchased an 89 Silverado 2-wheel drive that only has 90000 miles from a friend of my Grandmother. I've always loved the Chevy 350 and feel lucky to have found a 15 year old truck with such low miles that has NOT been abused. Here's to reaching 300,000 miles!
There is no way your truck can run a 1/4 mile in 11.99. a ford power stroke beat a new corvette in 12 seconds flat.
I believe you about the ride I just bought one. The interior or seats are comfortable! there's no way a ford can beat a chevrolet. Found On Road Dead!!!.
Well I dunno about the smoothest ride, but for a truck with a 2-4 dropand posi whichi installed my self it rides pretty descent, but yall are also right 11.99 in a silverado? id sayat least 475 rwh and some slicks..
