Water pump started to leak a few days after I got it, but, because it was just replaced a week before I got it, it was replaced at no charge... no problems since.
My Excursion 4x4 Limited turbo diesel is the baddest around! With me Airraid intake, Magnaflow 4" exhaust, and Quadzilla 4 bank chip I am the king of all I trample over. Got Diesel? I get 18 miles per gallon city and 22+ highway in chip mode. Plus with fuel prices rising above the $2.00 mark I only pay $1.65 a gallon for diesel. Got Speed? My 0-60 is in the kick azz range. Got power? With my upgrades I have over 400 horsepower and 700 torque. Catch me if you can! I have a 93 MR2 turbo also and I hardly use it because I get better gas mileage in the Excursion, my Eco car!
Well-written. I bought a '98 Isuzu Trooper because I thought I'd get better mileage than I would have out of an American SUV, and believe me when I say, I NEED an SUV. I've got three dogs, one child and another on the way, I have a BUNCH of stuff I have to haul consistently, and in Nebraska winters, 4WD is a godsend.
But, as it turns out, a diesel Excursion, with a Bully Dog chip, will actually get a mile or two further per gallon than my Trooper will with it's wimpy 215hp/230lb-ft V6.
So, with an Excursion, I'd actually use LESS fuel, be able to haul a LOT more, two a LOT more, be lots more comfortable, repair it for much less money, and for the first time ever, I'll be able to plow snow, since it's got the F250's underpinnings.
Diesel is without a doubt the way to go, and an Excursion is the convenience and utility of an SUV, without the (for me) wasted space of an F250/F350.
It's a great vehicle, and driven responsibly and with a light foot, and equipped with the Bully Dog chip for around $500, I'll be one happy camper.
Don't kid yourselves, folks.

I'm not saying it sips the fuel, but it's awesome for it's size.
Now, if I can just convince the Mrs. to let me trade in...
