The head gasket blew at 46,000 kilometers.
Interior lights above front seats burnt out within one week of being replaced.
Passenger seat plastic side cover broke off from screws.
Handbrake cover was not secured properly from time of purchase.
As a result of the head gasket blowing, this required the engine to be rebuilt by KIA resulting in the car being off the road for approximately 5 weeks. When asked about a warranty for the new engine we were informed that the only warranty that would be honored would be the remainder of the new car warranty which was a period of 6 weeks from when the car was returned to us. After ringing KIA Australia to see about the warranty for the new engine, we rang the dealership we purchased the car from to see what buy back price we would get for the car. We are still waiting to hear from the dealership and KIA Australia.
Aside from this problem we have no major complaint with the car and did enjoy it while we had it.

I understand how you feel having a car that gave so much problem to you. I am also driving a KIA Carnival.
Honestly, I went through the same problem as yours. Every single one of those you mentioned. And the problem start from the day I received my car from the dealer.
The law in Malaysia protect the dealer more than the consumer otherwise I would thrown this car back to them. And I am still have problem with mine until today.
The worst car that I had even driven as far as reliability.
The comfort doesn't justify the among of problem we had to deal with and the service given to this car in Malaysia is the worst you can ever experience because the Company import is as irresponsible as the manufacturer
