"Great Value for the Money!!!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Since picking up the vehicle nothing has gone wrong.

General comments?

Car is very comfortable. Rides great and seats are comfortable. Really like the looks of the car and price is great compared to other vehicles in the same class. Premium sound system is great! Trunk has a large amount of space. Base engine has enough power to merge/pass safely. Have heard the 24 Valve Duratec is quite a bit more powerful, but haven't driven one.

Just wanted to update my experience with this vehicle. Now at 46000 km. Only problem with vehicle was a recall on Brake switch. 10 minutes spent at dealer to fix. Overall car has been great. Really like how the vehicle drives and have had many people comment on it's looks. It's charcoal grey with trunk spoiler and SEL wheels. I've noticed that the brake rotors do warp early, but I spend a lot of time in stop and go traffic. Dealer checked brakes and they are in great shape still. I'll try to update status of vehicle as time goes on.

Just wanted to update my experience with the Taurus. I'm now at 84,500 km. I'm still on the original rear and front brakes although they do vibrate there is still material left, but will need brake job in the next 5000 km. Tires (Continental) are also still original and have been rotated as per scheduled maintenance. They still have lot's of tread on them. The only problem I've had was a water leak which flooded the passenger side floor. Turns out the sunroof drainage tubes were plugged with leaves and the water backed up into the car in heavy rain. I do have a couple of annoying things to report though. I have a vibration at highway speed which I believe is caused by the warped rotors (Hopefully a brake job fixes the problem) The transmission is also a bit clunky at times and will shift hard on occasion or feel like it's searching for the right gear at other times. Seems to be common on the Taurus as I talked to other owners who experience the same problem. Other than the two mentioned problems the car runs great and has never given me any mechanical problems. I will follow up at a later date (unless I trade it as a Fusion is in my near future)

Try checking your transmission fluid level according to proper procedure. If it's low or too high, make the correction. Improver fluid level will cause hard shifting once the transmission heats up in stop and go traffic.
