"This car was alright if it wasn't in the shop"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I hate this car because when I got it the a/c did work. The radio didn't neither. I took it back the day and the dealer said that he couldn't fix it. I told him I just got it yesterday. They still wouldn't fix it. I had to put 26 sets of brakes on it in about 2 years.

The warranty lasted for 36000 miles. All of the things started to happen at around 37500. The a/c broke again the brakes I took to get checked they said that they have to fix the rotors and everything. (Costing me around $5000).

The door started to creak when you shut it. Sometimes they wouldn't even close. That was embarrassing! The engine blew on it on taking the transmission with it. I was going down the about 60Mph I started to hear the at a higher rev so I slowed down a bit to about 45 then I stop because it wasn't doing any better so I stopped and cut it off. I turned back on then engine rev ed up really high then blew up. I wasn't even pressing the gas. All this happened between 37500 to 40000. The tires had to replace 16 time because the car was to heavy.

General comments?

This car was a great car when it worked, but it spent so much time in the shop. It did had enough gas to be pushed to 60 before you get hit by a 18 wheeler. trust me I almost be hit by so many. The brakes are alright for this car. The car was good on gas and oil until I had to switch engines. The cabin was very big in the front, but the backseat was litter than that of my brother Ford Mustang GT. They were very comfortable.

What are you talking about that you had to put 26 sets of brakes on your car, and then you said that the brakes were good and you said that the seat were littler than that in a mustang gt, but then you said that they were comfortable are you crazy. I am mean come on, get the facts straight.

Maybe you did get hit by an 18-wheeler and don't remember it, which might account for this review...

The numbers for your brakes and tires don't add up. I am not sure what you mean by the car being heavy unless you try picking it up;). I think you meant to say the steering felt heavy.

I bought mine (1,5 automatic) at 215k km, drove it until 285k km on the same brakes. the only things I had to fix are the fuel tank and the radiator. I know a lot of person who own a colt like that and I never heard stories like that. The colt (or mirage) is probably the best deal you can get on an older Japanese car, way cheaper than a protege, a civic or a tercel.

94 Colt 1.5 At 200000mi. had to replace another timing belt, brakes, radiator, more tires, a distributor at 175000mi and trunk latch. I have owned it for 3 years, paid next to nothing for it, great MPG, otherwise a pretty good deal.
