"A pure moth of a car!!!!!!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Both track control arms, central locking, dash light bulbs, waterpump, hand brake cables, brake shoes and pads, CV boots and various other bushes, new gearbox and clutch (2nd gear wouldn't engage), rear wheels sit at a funny angle but this may be normal for the mark 1's. Lock on driver's door became loose!

General comments?

Apart from the great big list these are great cars to drive and are nippy up to 100mph. Burned ofd many cars inc Saxo VTS, Golf GTi and many XR2's but the list could go on! Car now sorted and would recommend it to anyone! Superb and economical for the performance that can be gained. With a few mods like a K&N and a straight through exhaust you'll be smiling guaranteed when you walk out of the car, everytime.

Rear wheels sitting at a funny angle is most likely due to worn trailing arm bearings.

I used to own a GT and got TOASTED by a Saxo VTS, funny that.

The funny alignment of the wheels is due to the rear beam being misaligned, Don't worry unless one wheel is further forward than the other because they are all set up differently at the factory.

I have to agree with the person above, the gt isn't quite as quick as a vts 16v (you wouldn't expect it to be) but it will trounce vtr's off the mark.. with a few mods though it is a different story - C'MON VTS'S.
