I have not had too many problems with this car. The one thing that I had work done on is the spark plugs, and spark plug wires. The engine began to stall out or even sporadically die while the car was engaged in gear. I took it to the dealership and they said nothing was wrong. This continued on and off for a few months, until a friend recommended a local mechanic. The mechanic had experience with this problem, and knew exactly what to do. It turned out that he owned a 94 Park Avenue, that had been having the same problem.
There are several things I love about this car. To start off with, it has a beautiful shape. The large body heralds back to the time of the classic big body cars that were expected from U.S. car makers.
There is also plenty of room. the interior has more than enough room for people my size. I am 6 foot 4 inches tall, and don't have any problem getting in our out of the car. It also has a great trunk space to pack full of groceries, or build a box for some thump in the trunk!
I would like to know what the problem was. My car does the same thing. If you could please respond to adfmart@hotmail.com.
Tony.
My wife's car is having the same problem. When we take it to the shop, it does not die when they drive it. Maybe what was wrong with your car might be wrong with hers. Please let me know how you fixed your problem. dtarch@msn.com
Hello, I had a problem with our 94 Lesabre, Stalling while driving, and "service engine light" would come on. Scanner at auto shop said possible neutral safety switch, and definitely was a idle control sensor. Well, it still happened, well I took our car to a Buick dealer and found fuel pump going, replaced fuel pump, sending unit, and relay. And it still did the same thing, finally when engine light came on for them at shop, they said it was showing distributor module and crankshaft sensor, they replaced them, and now it runs, but a tad rough, I changed plugs and wires, but didn't help, but at least she runs.
I too have a 1994 Buick LeSabre. Stalled while in gear and as I was approaching intersections. Had the crankshaft sensor replaced twice and a fuel line, even the dealer told me it was the kind of gas I was using?? FINALLY, the mechanics thought it might be the computer. I had the computer replaced and it works like a charm!! I have had absolutely no problems since. Maybe you can ask your mechanic about the computer. New ones are about $200.00, but I was able to put in one from a used LeSabre. Good luck!
I had the same problems described above where my 1994 LeSabre Limited would die - at first it was at slower speeds going uphill, but then it happened on a freeway going about 60MPH. My mechanic had the car for a week, did all sorts of tests and finally replaced the computer that apparently was malfunctioning (think it is a chip) - have not had a problem since and car runs very well. He said that problem was a first for him.
I have a 1994 Buick Park Avenue which hesitates when
trying to pass I have to kick the gas pedal down harder
to get it to go into a passing gear. Got all kinds of
opinions need some direction with this one...

My Buick LeSabre Custom stalls when the gas gauge reads near or below the half mark. It runs rough and stalls when I am making a turn or moving from a stopped position. The computer scan does not show any malfunctions. I am not sure why this would happen when the gas gauge reads below the half tank mark. Does anyone have any idea or experience with this? My only solution so far is to keep the gas tank above the half mark.

Good luck.
I have owned my 1994 lesabre for 3 yrs. now. I purchased it with around 60,000 miles. It now has 94,000 on it. In that time I only put on a new belt and a new oil pan gasket. I service it every 3,000 miles. The car is a great and reliable form of transportation. People laugh and say I drive an old persons car. I laugh all the way to the bank.
My 1990 Lesabre that I sold to get this one, now has close to 160,000 miles on it. I sold it at 118,000. That was a great car too.
Well, i had the same problem too, and fixed it finaly. Just bought Honda Accord, and never had to remember of The "Great' buick's adventure...sad, very sad for our automakers...
I bought my 1994 LeSabre in August of 2005. I love it - it rides great. The price was right for this luxury car. I too am laughing all the way to the bank! It did stall twice in city traffic so I will get the computer checked out. Thanks for your advice everyone!
We have had a 94 LeSabre Limited since 1998. Bought it second hand from a Caddy Dealer. It had 64K miles on it. I asked to see the title so I could read the handwriting. Old Man's handwriting. I bought the car. We still own it and now it has 200K on it.
The compressor for the A/C went out a couple of years ago. I just didn't want to spend $700.00 on it. I was going too, but, the security system went out...$900.00 for that. That was my only real big complaint with this car was that. I did replace the front struts. That was nice. It drove like new again. I have been faithful on the oil changes (every 3K). It still gets me to work everyday. About 140 miles/day. However, it is starting to get long in the tooth. My mpg is going down. I ordered a new Corolla LE to replace this car and let my kid have it.
I have a 94 Buick Lesabre with lots of problems. please call me at 704 - 984 - 6381 if you can help. Here is the list:
1.Service engine soon light came on when car was leaking water, I replaced water pump and timing belt that fixed the water leak.
2.Service engine soon light is still coming on
3.Car stalls and takes off very, very slow. I wouldn't reccomend pulling out in front of anyone.
4.Car will cut off while you are driving and you lose power
5.Service engine light keeps coming on and Brake light comes on and beeps and does not go off. I replaced the brakes and both of these lights are still on. the car is still stalling and cutting off.
PLEASE HELP ME!!! I bought this car used and I really love this car and want to keep it running in tip top condition.
I just bought a 1994 Buick Le Sabre Custom and L-O-V-E it. The gas gauge moves a lot, but I generally know how much gas I have used and I read that is normal for Buicks.
I also have a 1994 Buick Lasabre and it stalls when I go under 35 mph, when I'm making a turn or just sitting at a light. I have had the crankshaft sensor replaced a new computer because every time I have it put on a machine another problem comes up, I fix that problem but the car still continues to stall. I have also had a new trans put in because one of the test came back for that I've had oil changes and fuel filters and nothing has worked. Can someone please enlighten me, I can't afford a new car but I can't afford to keep putting money into this and still having the same problem.
