Rust problem on tailgate.
The rear wiper broke and it tore the metal sheet, causing a 1"x2" spot of rust around the rear wiper.
It appeared after the 3ys/60000 km warranty and have to pay for this to return it (This was a lease).
Other than that, worked very well except a 30$ part called a link kit on the front right suspension that I had to change.
Great construction/Well built.
Warranty strictly applied by manufacturer.
I also agree about Nissans Customer service. I was recently in the market for a new car. We stopped by nissanand looked at the X-terra. I liked it a lot. I was trading in my 98' contour (17 recalls, and a developing engine fire problem... but that's a different story). Nissan wanted to charge me so that they could to a diagnistics test on the contour, and for cleaning it up. Then turn around and charge the next guy who bought it for the exact same things. NO!!! DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!!! That day, Nissan lost a potential customer forever. I ended up buying a Jeep Liberty, with a much better warranty (7yrs/70,000 miles) and the dealership threw in 14 free oil/filter/lube changes. I love it. I would reccomend the Liberty over the X-Terra any day. yes, nissan is a Jap. car, and they build a damn good car. But they need to work on their dealerships.
