Brakes grab and pull ending with total failure every 6 months.
ABS light and Brake light flicker, then brakes heat up and smoke.
Nice car, but mechanics from multiple dealerships cannot find the cause of brake problems.
I had the same problems with my cirrus. The brake light would go on and the brake pedal became hard like a rock. The mechanic said it was the ABS computer and that the part would cost 600 dollars alone. He also said that he couldn't guarantee that this would not happen again. What he did was disconnect the ABS. The car doesn't have this problem anymore. Also in the snow if you don't have a good set of tires this car will skid so be careful.
I am also having problems with my breaks to on my Chrysler Cirrus (1996 LX). And I was told it was most likely the caliper was sticking. The disconnecting the ABS caught my eye, because it does make very loud noises when I have to apply to it hard. And it will make my steering very loud for a few minutes after I've had to apply them to very hard. EX: you have to stop before you hit someone, type hard stop. And another example was the other day I stopped very hard, and I had to turn off my car and turn it back on because the car would not turn in a left direction.
Also, I am having to change the front brakes about every 6 months or less to.
