2003 Saleen S7 from Australia and New Zealand - Comments

"Enzo and McLaren competitor"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

One of the P-Zero's had molding faults and cracked.

General comments?

This car drinks a lot of fuel as expected,

so far I have managed an average of about 9.7mpg.

The car was imported throught a Lotus dealer, the car just was not delivered on time even though my order had be in for months.

Now for a change of tone.

The Connelly leather smells nice.

The very effective heat and air-conditioning systems surprised me, so did the noise of the power steering.

The brakes are great, but lack of anti-lock prevents stops from being shorter.

Overall it's a real work of art and driving it is a pure pleasure.

I hope you enjoy this car for many years to come. Den.

Oh come on really!... the only good things you have to say about a **Saleen** is that the leather smells good and the air-co works great??? This sounds like a family sedan review! We want details about how it's like when DRIVING it hard which you should have especially after having to wait all this time for delivery..."Driving it is a pure pleasure"? Please you can do better than that... unless you can't cause you're just another troll reviewer.

The last two comments assume that the review is genuine.

Although I cannot speak for New Zealand (I live in Australia), I have never even seen a review on the Saleen in the Australian press let alone know of any on the road.

I know of no Saleen authorised dealers to speak of and unless the car was privately imported, I doubt the review is genuine.

The real giveaway is this: would any enthusiast owner rave about leather seats and air con in a car that is known for its supercar performance not luxury.

Oh yeah right, going from a Chevy Silverado to a Saleen S7. I don't think so! Like the second guy said, this review sounds like a family sedan review. You don't need ABS on a Saleen S7!

Don't all you people realize that the review of the Saleen S7 is fake. Don't you think that someone lucky enough to own a Saleen would talk more about the performance, handling, and other things that this extremely expensive car has to offer and not just say the molding cracked. I personally don't have a Saleen and I know I probably never will, but if I did I think I would have more to say then the molding cracked and the leather smells nice. So please people just publish real reviews of cars you really own. If you want to make up a review that bad why don't you go and do it about some car that people just don't care about and maybe people will be able to get what they want out of this website which is REAL REVIEWS.

I an doing a report on the Saleen S7 and I have to say that the review done by with web site is very poor and I expect a more thorough report if I am to do research.

I'm fed up with all the people on Car Survey who talk about fake reviews.

You would be very suprised, but before I bought my first ferrari alls I wanted to know is what happened when you floor it. As you get older and get use to all the supercars performance isn't allways the biggest thing. Its almost taken for granted. Yes some are faster than others, but they're all very fast!

I like my ferrari, but comfort is becoming a big priority. Ferraris just aint comfy for my back. But I love the design of them (Exterior) I just can't part with mine.

Anyhow what I'm trying to say is that when youve had 1 or 2 supercars its the little things that make a difference - trust me. Its hard to imagine, but if you ever get one of these supercars, own them for a few years, get use to being able to buy pratically any car and it will happen to you - you will pick out just little things on why you like the car!

The S7 generates more than its own weight in down force, If were going fast enough it could drive upsidedown not to mention accelleration and top speed and all you have to say is the leather smells nice?!?! Either you have never taken that car past 3rd gear or you wrote the review after you sat in one.

Personally, I think if it was a fake review, he would rant and rave about it like dreamers likely would. The fact that he had some complaints makes me think he does own it. Otherwise he'd use cliches about the speed and falsely brag about getting women he really isn't getting. I just don't see a dreamer writing anything critical about such a car.

FALSE REVIEW! ABS does not make you stop faster than non-ABS, in fact non-ABS will stop quicker!

'FALSE REVIEW! ABS does not make you stop faster than non-ABS, in fact non-ABS will stop quicker!'

That's debatable. If you start spinning cos you've no ABS, the chances are you won't stop quicker...that's as long as you don't hit something!

ABS allows you to be in control while turning while in fact non-ABS will stop sooner. ABS was not designed to stop quicker, it was designed to keep the car in control.

HEY, that's true on the comment about saleen's performance, as it is true that it can beat a veyron in tre track. surprised?, read more about dynamics to learn. so if you ever have a saleen, please don't subestimate it, looks like you don't really know what supercar you have.

Every single time someone here comments about an expensive exotic car, it is immediately called a false review. Why? This web site is quite easy to find and includes a lot of brands to review on, it is appealing. I have read so ridiculous arguments as: "A person with so much money cannot have the time to review his car". Come on! Specially if you have a lot of money, you also have a lot of time to do whateaver you want, that's why you have houses on the beach or at the mountains, etc...

And about the technical arguments, do research before talking: ABS stops you faster in wet weather and slower in dry weather, and allows you to conserve control in wet weather. As simple as that.
