1993 Chevrolet Corsica LT Sedan from North America - Comments

"Not worth your time or money."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The heater hose blew not even a month after I had the car. The brakes never work and when I take them to have them checked out, no one can find anything wrong with them. When I first crank the car up to leave, and put on the brakes, the rear end of my car sinks to the ground. No one has ever been able to find out what's wrong with that either. After it has rained I will acquire a 2 inch deep puddle of water in the passenger side floor-board. I never can tell where the water seeps in from. Since about 95,000 miles, the car wants to die out at red lights. There has been an overheating problem since day 1.

General comments?

The car does have some get up and go, I will give it that.

The interior of the car is comfortable.

But with all the other problems, I have to say that it is not worth it.

Had the same problem both passenger side and driver side, and the problem was the same: The seal between the door and a-post (the window frame) was slightly loose. Just pushed it firmly back in place. In both instances this was somewhat difficult to detect, since the seal was just slightly loose, but loose enough to allow water dripping behind the seal.

Yep, I have a 1991 Lt= = same problems- very annoying, but it is still going with original drive train= = 207,000 miles. I don't drive it like my @#!@!#$# is on fire like most people do, so I have not abused it. Also it has no rust and I live in northern Indiana- - amazing!! It has sat outside every day since it was new- guess that galvinized steel really works huh??? Also average 33-35 mpg from day one 14 years ago. All in all it has been a great cheap little car= = It owes me nothing!!

I have a 1993 Corsica with 180,000 miles and it runs like a dream. Except for the brakes, it does do the sinking thing, but otherwise I believe that was a poor review.

By the way, have you noticed that according to the owner's manual you have to brake very hard every 1000 miles so that the brakes will adjust correctly.

Hey, you did not buy a new car here, but a 13 year old used car. So, what did you expect? BTW, have you gotten the car checked out at a garage? The brake is probably normal wear and the water leak a loose door sealing. Try to pull the seal gently and check if it comes off. If it does, fix it with epoxy glue or similar and it will never leak again.

Water in the compartment = loose door seal. Happens to every old Corsica.

Your brake problems = probably malfunctioning brake pressure regulator/distributor, which make your car brake too much on the rear brakes, hence it "sits" on its rear wheels when braking.

Both problems should be easy to fix for any proficient GM mechanics.

All corsica, s earlier than 1995 had a water leak from around the fresh air intake box. it is located under the passenger side cowl. during heavy rains water would be on the passenger side, front carpet.

I can't bring myself to call this car bad. But coming from driving an Accord it was quite a shock. The steering was so disconnected you didn't know if you were driving a car on a highway or piloting a boat in 6 feet of water.

The seats were like sitting on a lazy-boy recliner, and the thing would bounce up and down when you took certain kind of bumps.

The engine had plenty of power with the V6, especially down low.
